It is with regret that the John Edgar Trust Organising Committee, with the support of the Trustees, have made the decision to postpone the 2020/21 course due to restrictions currently in place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With a great deal of uncertainty surrounding the situation going forward and having already had to cancel the farm walk traditionally used to ‘launch’ the new course, the organising committee are unable to effectively make solid arrangements for the application & interview process as well as for the course itself. Most importantly, this decision has been made for the safety and well- being of potential course delegates, course tutors & organisers, visiting speakers to the course and the hosts of course visits. Furthermore, the committee would rather run a fully operational course when the current situation is under control, rather than one with restrictions and social distancing measures in place preventing delegates from receiving the full benefit of the experience.
Therefore, the course due to commence in December 2020 will be postponed for one year to run from December 2021 to February 2022. Applications will open in May 2021 with an interview date in July, exact dates all to be confirmed.
Potential applicants who were planning on applying for this year’s course are still encouraged to send an ‘expression of interest’ by email to Elizabeth Badger, firstname.lastname@example.org.
We apologise for any disappointment this may cause to potential applicants and thank you for your understanding in this highly unusual situation.
The John Edgar Trust Organising Committee.
